If you use a relatively short 2 inch strap that has sewn loops on both ends, you can easily larkshead a 1 inch strap or amsteel and continue on with your suspension of choice.

Your 1 inch strap could attach at its sewn loop
And amsteel could have a spliced or knotted end loop

If you choose not to larkshead the loops together, you could use soft shackles or carabiners to make connections.

You have many choices. Some of your choices will be your personal preference and the gear you have when assembling your suspension

You might want to be able to easily disconnect rest of suspension from 2 inch strap, so it can still be used with a 1 inch strap in other campgrounds
Carabiners or soft shackles will be good for easy disconnect

Sorry,im to dumb to get 'implied' questions.

They get intergrated into the system same as any other straps.

The important part is the width interacting with the tree, the rest is whatever you want/have

Thanks for the replies everyone! I'm keen to see the setup you're using, nanok. I have been tossing around an idea for some 2" straps with sewn eyes on both ends, 3-4' in length and some shock cord with some type of retainer to hold it in place and keeping it from falling down the tree as I set up.

I'm interested in seeing what different options others are using. Sure it's easy to say "use 2 inch straps, duh", but one thing I've found on this site is that people often come up with some very interesting ways to use things that I would have never thought of myself - like the Costco underquilt, or the turtledog stand (both of which I've made!). I'd like to see what innovative ways this wonderful community has thought up!
Ideally I'd not like to carry around 26' of 2" strap if 6' will do in conjunction with some dog-bones and whoopies or something else I have not thought of.
    Thanks again everyone!

I'm a big fan of the kevlar 2" straps I got from Fugal Innovations (https://www.fugal-innovations.com/pr...kevlar-straps/) They seem light and strong and with a Becket hitch provide a really light-weight compact suspension system. With those I use Autumn Ultralight's becket hitch continuous loops (they have a second thumb loop for untying), which I am also a fan of (https://www.autumnultralight.com/pro...e/becket-loops)

I have 2” huggers in a bag somewhere. I’m sure, if I ever needed them, they’d be back home - still in the bag. So if a park person complained about 1 inch tree straps, I’d think sticking some twigs vertically between the straps and the tree would satisfy the lbs/sq. inch concerns.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.
