WP1 that's a great trip report! I love reading about bike/Tensa4 trips. I say this so much that people are sick of it I'm sure, but the Tensa4 changed my motorcycle trips in such a positive way, there is no way I would go back.

For what it's worth, I have used my motorcycle as an anchor before, both for the Tensa4, and straight to the hammock. I have a pretty heavy bike though (HD Road King), so it's typically around 800 pounds or so with all my crap in the bags and stuff.

I have used both of my motorcycles as well, one around 500lbs, and the other around 420lbs. I haven't had any issues with the stability of the anchor point (front wheel).

Was waiting to hear feedback from other bikers. Yes, I believe this could be a good back-up plan when needed. Although I'm thinking I'd use the jiffy / kick stand on the down side (leveraging the weight of bike) Either way, looks like we have a good resource for treeless hanging.

I should clarify, I have used my bike to anchor the Tesnsa4. I want to try using it as a tie off point for the hammock so I can bring just a single Tensa Solo along on my more offroad adventures. I haven't take the time to try it yet. I see some testing happening soon...

I have done the bike as tie off for the hammock. Tree/picnic table one end, bike on the other. It's a little wonky until you find the right place on the bike to give you the minimum height you need, while keeping everything stable enough that you don't have to worry about pulling the bike over. I practiced in my backyard a few times until I felt comfortable enough with it.

I can do that. I will roll the bike out to the backyard tonight, maybe tomorrow if it's raining.

It was raining last night. My DW just let me know we are attending a co-workers retirement party at a local brewery tonight . I have the day off Friday, so I will roll the bike out Friday and get some pictures with the tree/bike and Tensa4/bike, and have a real good time.
