    Amok Dramur Rain Stop Failure

Hung out in my new Amok Dramur 5.0 in some heavy rain, not crazy heavy, but steady for most of the day. I did not have any problems with the tarp or wind and rain coming in from the side. However, I had some wet spots and pooling or puddling on one side (not Niagara Falls or anything, but concerning). Inspection showed that it appeared water was coming all the way down the suspension strap, just one side, other side was fine. The stopper had rain dripping off it, not sure if I was missing something, but the straps on that side were definitely wet all the way down into the hammock where water was collecting. Anybody else ever have or notice this problem?

I have once similar problem with Draumr. Then I twist strap and added drip lines as Shug mention.Never had that problem again.

Yep, twist the straps to have 6-8 turns and then slide some thick rubber bands on the straps (Red and Green of course) then use some 10-inch long yellow Zing-It and double each line, then larks-head them to the bottom of the rubber bands with on a weight loaded hang. Rain will always find a way to urn down a flat strap, and if it rains hard enough a single drip-line may not stop all of the water. If so, use two drip lines per strap, with one drip line close to the attachment points to the Amok body.

    I have used 2-inch straps...in heavy rain...big pity-party in the morning.
