Okay. We have video thanks to Bill. I will call the campground and see if we can use the trees between the loop road near the sites. River side of sites looks brushy and not as many trees. Could limit how many we could fit into the sites. More to follow after phone call.

Okay. So I called Hot Springs campground today and the young lady I talked with could not tell me whether the groups sites had any trees for hammocks. I asked about the trees across the road and got no answer from her. I suspect since there are no camp sites in that circle road area. we would have a hard time convincing them to let us hang there. Based on Crawldaddy's pics and videos, I think the group sites are more directed toward tent camping.
I am thinking I might make a side trip through HS with the wife when we do the "leaf peeping" thing in early November near Brevard. Will be headed back to TN house for a few days and that will be in general direction of travel. Also gives us a chance to hit Asheville for some shopping downtown, i. e Mast General Store..
Looking at the calendar, there are not many open weekends left with the holidays approaching. So the end result might be we have a hang in the spring.
Anyone having another plan is welcome to jump in here.
Thanks

Yeah, you will likely have to talk to the owners or at least who is most in charge there to get a firm yes or no.
I'm sure you and the wife will enjoy the mountains.

Today I made a stop in the camp ground to checkout the number of hanging trees in Sties E1 - E4. 1 and 2 can handle about 10 or 11 hammocks if the river is at normal low water. 3 and 4 have no useable trees. I will need to talk with management about the trees in the circle area outside the sites to see if they will let us hang there. If yes on that issue we will be good for a spring hang. I will post a few pics when we get home on Thursday.

Thanks again to Bill (Crawldaddy) for the previous site info. That was a big help.

I wonder if they have the same owners/management from the old days we hanged there. If so I believe we were in a good place with them. Several hangs were done in undesignated camp sites as I remember.
