    Georgia hanger saying hey!

Hello everyone, been lurking for a while and just recently got into hammocks (very heavily might I add) start of August. Absolutely loving it, been into outdoors and camping all my life, I'm 20 now and hammocks have gotten me fulling back into the outdoors and backpacking again! My setup is a Dutchware 11ft netless hammock, 20 degree incubator, a wise owl rain fly (from original cheaper setup) and a down sleeping bag from ground days. Looking forward to chatting and meeting new people, especially anyone in the state (and if there are any hangs in the state cause I'd love to meet some like minded people). This forum and shugs videos have helped me learn soo much in such a little time. Looking forward to being apart of this fantastic community, thanks all!

Welcome. I use the same idea with sleeping bags instead of top quilts. I've got seven down bags of various ratings and am too poor to re-buy for myself and my wife, who now is a hammock fan. They work well with the zipper faced down underneath you and since I'm not a morning person, the hood is a great way to block out the morning sun when I wan't just a few minutes more.

I'm in NC and probably in a similar climate to you and most of my discomfort outdoors has always been the damp heat. I have found the cold butt syndrome to be a welcoming hammock feature much of the year. Much more breezy up off the ground as well I find.

I sure wish I had hammocks and Shug around when I was twenty. Well actually what I'd really like is to BE 20 again.

Of course now you have to explore all the options out there ... like Whoopies etc. One can never have just one hammock. That would be crazy.
