That sounds great Jimbo! Would love to test them out side by side. Thanks. I’m hoping to be at NOVA hang early on Friday.

~ All I want is affordable, simple, ultralight luxury. That’s not asking too much is it?
SO?

What was Airwave compared to Hexon 1.6 and HyperD1.6?
I have a Warbonnet Heavyweight Double Blackbird XLC - It's a 40Denier Nylon.
A WBO RidgeRunner in double-layer 40D Dream-Tex also.
I've ordered, it's on its way, a Dutchware single layer Chameleon in Hexon 1.6.
I built a small 9' Arrowhead-Equipment Double 30D 1.1 ripstop nylon with a 100" fixed ridgeline for my daughters.
The XLC feels cotton smooth, low stretch. The AE 1.1 has that "grippy sheen" to it - NO STRETCH, and I'm excited to feel the Chameleon.
I was believing the crowds when they claim the double-layers help with the temps...but having slept in all 3, I don't feel it. This may change with the Chameleon.
Now, I'm thinking for my second daughter, to get her a hammock of her own, and I was looking into the the AE Airwave option. So, I'm interested in hearing with your thoughts were on the material. The vendor is top notch.
So Airwave Vs DreamTex Vs MTN 1.7.
They're all super close stretch wise. I really didnt notice much of a difference. I guess I'd give a slight edge to the MTN 1.7 being firmer, but its so close as to be negligible for me at least.
Comfort wise, again all super close. I guess I prefer the feel of Airwave against bare skin, its more of a slightly rough cottony feel. And in warmer weather it doesnt feel as sticky, seems to breathe more. It is more grippy on clothes though, which some people hate.
I didnt really notice a difference between DreamTex and MTN 1.7, both felt pretty much the same there.
In a dream world I could get a Warbonnet El Dorado or XLC made out of Airwave.
I think my setup will be summer/hot weather trips - Airwave with half bug net. Other trips my XLC most likely.
Best use for AirWave: hammock pillows!!!! I made a stuff sack that I put a shirt or fleece in and use for a pillow. So comfy!!
