    VIDEO: Swift Camp Creek Overlook

This trail is located in the Daniel Boone Forest.
The trailhead is located at the first large pull off on the left of Rock Bridge Road.

I did this short trip as a way to show a less-traveled trail in the "Gorge" that is flooded with more than seven campsites all under a riot of Pines at almost every turn.

There is ample firewood here, far away from much traffic and allows hikers to also explore Turtle Back Arch at a fork on the trail.
Water resources are slim, but the outlook is secluded and worth the payoff.

Given the enormous amount of established campsites, any traveler will find an appropriate campsite for a large group or a site suitable for the solo tree dweller.

    Thanks for watching!

Looks like a pretty area. The Red River Gorge is on my list of places I want to check out. Thanks for sharing

    The name caught my attention!

We hiked the actual swift camp creek trail a few years back, it didnt work out well for us. We started at the Rock bridge area trailhead of SCC trail, and found nothing but rhododendron thickets and steep drops to the creek the entire way. We took the wildcat back to the 715, I put my wife up in her hammock 100yds off the highway to rest, dropped my pack, and beat feet on the road allll the way back to get the car in the same day lol.

Granted, there were spots we could have camped closer to the 715 on the wildcat, but we were over it by then- not to mention it was busy. We stopped along there to rest, consider our plan, and eat supper, and saw quite a few groups pass on the trail.

    Thanks for posting!

That trail can be rough in some areas and it gets easier if the farther down you go the creek trail. There are some great campsites along the way, but like you said, you have to endure the bush and rocky - sometimes muddy - trail otherwise along the way. If you go up SCC trail up to Rough Trail and down there are some spectacular scenes to see that way, but you do have to go back down into a valley. Thanks for watching bindfordw!
