    Pole mod

A friend of mine purchased a custom 13’ Superfly last year. It has the side pullouts but he didn’t buy the 2 external poles. After seeing mine on a camping trip last week he wants to purchase them but when he went to WB site there is only the single internal pole for sale. I looked also and didn’t see it. Am I missing it somewhere?

I believe you can make your own poles. You just need to know the length and then buy some blanks + ends. That's what I did with mine. 3 sections each ... I think assembled it is a little over 5'. Just don't ask me where I bought them, but I'm sure someone here can point you in the right direction.

    Cheers.

You can also add a D-ring (I forget the name) to the original D-Ring. It has a hole for the pole tip. The Superfly might already have that kind of D-ring as standard.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

Beastie-D. They come in different sizes, so make sure you are buying the one with the hole that fits your pole tips.

If you're backpacking, you can use trekking poles.

I don’t set mine up enough this way to carry the poles, etc. As a result, I use a small section of shock cord and a nice stick from the woods as my ‘pole mod’

I bought my poles from WB. They have pictures on the site of SF with external pole mods. I was just curious why they don’t sell them anymore.
