I'm not going to be able to spend as much time at Hancon as I originally thought but I will be there Fri. afternoon and Saturday. I have to work half a day Sunday and I may come back after work. That's a lot of driving though

Augh, things have changed and I can’t make it after all.
Have fun without me!

So I just had a friend join my group at the last minute. He's a tent camper, and has never hanged, but I'd like to try to get him to give it a go. If things don't work out, is it acceptable for him to put up a tent close to me as long as it does not block a hanging spot?
Related, I've almost got hardware gathered up for another complete hammock set, but I might be short a set of cinch buckles or equivalent hardware? Will there be any vendors around on Thursday, or anybody that might be willing to barter? I've got a roll of dyneema cord and can do some splicing work
Absolutely… bring him along. It’s how I’ve gotten all my buddies into hammocks.
I should be there setting up Thursday. I’ll have extra gear with me. Probably not fancy Dutch bling but enough to get someone in a tree with ‘biners straps and cord.
There will be plenty of people there (including me) with spares to make plenty of Whoopies and such.

Just to add, if you have straps and a hammock with a continuous loop for the ends, you don't need any buckles or bling at all. Of course bling makes everything better and easier, but for basics, not needed.
But, like CoolBobby states, there are always enough folk at HangCon to keep you covered.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
As of this afternoon, we have over 300 people registered for HangCon 2022!
will there be a wash station for our plates and stuff we bring for meals or should we plan to set up our own?

Which size tree straps are recommended? Are 1 inch good enough, or should we use wider?
