Like Roy D. Mercer asked, how big a boy are ya? I wear 2X shirts. I have the HG Incubators in both 50" and 55". Both work great in the hammock. The 50" is ok on the ground if you're not an active or side sleeper. I toss and turn on the ground, and the 55" works fine for me. But I avoid the ground.

Yep I think 55-60 will work on the ground if a "finished" measurement. I think I posted earlier, 54" chest. HG and EE appear to use post fill for measurements, and UGQ pre-fill.

I use a Katabatic Gear Flex 30°F size Wide 6'-6", which is 58" wide. My shoulder circumference is 54". I don't think a 48~50" width would work for me at lower temps. You want to be able fasten the neck end in colder temperatures. The additional width would also be needed if you want to use the quilt on the ground. I would be careful not to skimp on length. The foot box needs plenty of room.
