    WhoOpie Slingz

Little excited and had to share.

Just got my 8', sleek ,black WhoOpie Slings in the mail. First time I saw Shugs vid demonstration, I knew I had to incorporate them into my stealth rig.

I put in my order on whoopieslings.com and got a personal confirmation reply that same day. I was worried I wouldn't have them for the upcoming Hoosier Hang. Get this. They were in my mailbox in just 2.5 business days! Are you serious? Nice!

Like a little kid, I hurried into the house to open my new toy. I squeezed the package as I walked. As I imagined, the cord inside was slickery. "Very sexy" I thought to myself. (and yes, slickery is a word here in Indiana)

Once inside, I teased myself a bit more by setting the package down on the kitchen table to go do a few mundane things. Anticipation built......I couldn't wait any longer. Got my glasses. got my coffee and I sat down.

After a few long seconds of studying the package, I pulled out the pocket knife but then put it away. "This had to be handled gently" I reasoned. Slowly I grabbed the corner of the flap and pulled back. oh ahhh oohhh oh yeah, ...shhweet...come to daddy..... that's the good stuff right there...

I carefully eyeballed the sleek, amsteel close-up and at a distance. I slipped it threw my hands to get an idea of how it felt. I slid the constrictor down and then back up. I tugged and pulled on each end; fascinated at it's breaking strength and how well it gripped. Wow!

Great workmanship, very detailed, very cool, very sexy! I can't wait to try them out!

    Thanks Opie.

Weirdest thing..... I have the urge to smoke a cigarette.....

    Hey Skookum,
how's about throwing those new and sexy whoOpie slings into the Hoosier Hang raffle, and give them away before you have to have another cigarette?

    jonesy...

I take great pride in being able to get things out quickly. Its not always easy because I really only have a couple hours a day that I can get things made. Most of the time the day starts at 5:30, sometimes 4:30 depending on the work schedule, with a quick check of the email. Then the daily run to the PO to drop off orders. Then its on to work. When I come home I play with the kids and talk with the wife till around 7:30 and then its up into the mancave. Ive started capping my time at 10:00. But sometimes I get in a groove and work till 11 or 12.

I don't premake anything. All orders are made when the order comes in. It still takes me about 1 hour to make a set of 4 tensioned guy lines. I almost cringe when an order comes in for them!!! Especially when the order is for 8 or 10 of them.

Couple that with my AR about having orders sitting in the queue and I force myself to get them out quickly.

But I enjoy doing it. Its a pleasure and I dont know why I hadnt started a small business sooner. I have always wanted too... just never did.

Opie's stuff comes fast And it's always very well made. I'm like a little kid on Christmas day when I get one of his packages in the mail.

I'm thinking of writing a steamy little follow-up pocket novel. Title: "Making WhoOpie" or maybe "Cordage Gone Wild".

Your just jealous that I have 8' sling and yours is only 6'. Sounds like cordage envy to me... might want to get a grip on that Gargoyle
