Kentucky Scottish Redneck, former journalist, forever traveler

I'm a former investigative journalist, current musician, hammock camper, backpacker and slow-out-of-the-gate YouTuber of sorts.

When I was young, I was in theatre, soccer and scouts. As a musician, I've played in dives and a few big stages with both small and big acts. I was most recently in the Netflix documentary series The Heist episode "The Bourbon King." I was an investigative journalist who covered that case to its end. I've been fortunate to make my living doing "creative" jobs: professional chef for 17 years, journalism and always music on the side hustle since I graduated from high school.

I've been on this forum for years, gaining wisdom and over the last 20 years, reconnecting to my love of all things outdoors. Like many, I was in scouts. As I got older, hammock camping gave me way to be comfortable outdoors again overnight.

I'm a fan of all the usual hammock camping "YouTubers," and I've made a few videos of my own at Tree Riot

I've enjoyed the knowledge and community here most of all. People are down to earth, accessible and aren't snotty little gits pontificating from an elevated pile of BS.

I'd love to make new friends here. I've got a small crew that loves to backpack in our region of KY and Indiana, travel, do miles and just have a good time. Connect with me if you like. We are all mostly tree dwellers but we are always open to more joining us. I will say though...camping for me is both a great time to share with pals and to also go at it solo with no agenda.

Hiya! Brad (aka Tree Riot, Sir Gorge The Red.

I resemble that remark...oh, wait, you said "aren't"...in that case, "Welcome to HF" where the hammocks are handsome, the suspensions are strong, and the BS is above average.
The game is the best teacher.

Do you do any fancy trail cooking? Also your videos are bad, you have some nice gear it seems. Keep up the good work!
