Swap out continuous loops for Warbonnet loops with buckles?

I didn't know that the separate buckle suspension they sold was meant to be larksheaded on.

It wasn't until this year. I guess it was just easier for them to do it this way. I still prefer the old way of exchanging the old suspension or continuous loop completely with the buckle suspension. But since the attached loop got shorter, it's now necessary to swap that out for a longer loop, if you want to do it that way.

I've heard that beetle buckles can put some wear and tear on amsteel, and having had the experience of a Dutch clip slicing halfway through a strap years ago, I'm leery of using Dutchware on my suspension if there is a possibility of it causing damage.

What kind of tree strap was that? A normal polyester one?

I have actually had less problems with the Beetle Buckles than with any other buckles, because their slots are narrow and the straps have a harder time twisting.
