    Old loggers path question

    Hi all,

Looking at doing old loggers path in loyalsock state forest this weekend. I know there’s been a lot of rain. Any reports on conditions, and water levels? Especially curious about the crossing at pleasant stream, since it can be dangerous at times.

    Thanks!

I can't talk to current conditions, but I was there a few months back. If there's rain in the forecast, avoid it as some of the hills will be muddy bobsled runs.

That's a couple hours from my driveway, it's been raining (steady at times) but it hasn't been heavy, and I generally get more precipitation given my proximity to the lakes. I'm northward over the border in NY.

So, I think you could make it if you don't mind getting wet, I wouldn't expect a total washout. There are some easier sections of Loyalsock you can do maybe. Not telling you to do it, there are gullies that can carry a lot of water and some trails follow them for a bit. If I lived closer I wouldn't think twice about it if the trip was planned and I wanted to get out. However, we are in for rain off and on for the next several days, so that'll soggy things up more.

    Just my two cents.
