    Warbonnet Thunderfly

So, I just sent my order in for a WB Thunderfly. Was going to go with the 20D Silpoly Minifly, but they were suddenly out of everything except orange, which looks terrible to me. The Thunderfly was only about 1.5 oz heavier (13.4) than the Minifly and provided a little more coverage, so I was fine with going with the slightly larger tarp. This will be about 7 oz lighter than my current setup. Can’t wait to get it out in the woods.

Nice. It's my go-to tarp for almost all my trips. What color did you want/get?

I went with the dark foliage green.

I have the same tarp for 3 season use. You’ll like it. Good weight-to-utility level and very packable. I keep it in a single snake skin along with a continuous ridgeline in the outer mesh pocket of my pack. Makes for quick deployment and packing up.

The Burnt Orange isn’t so bad. It helps you be found if stranded on a desert island. Here’s a setup on an island in Ozette Lake. Sometimes you want people to know you are there - so they can move to another location.

In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

Yeah, that looks pretty good. Sometimes it’s hard to visualize something unless you see it in real life. I suppose another factor in my color choice was I have a lot of other gear that’s green. Glad to hear all the positive responses on the WB tarps. Makes me feel good about my decision.

Love the Warbonnet tarp design with the little beaks.

I have the Minifly. Wouldn't mind the Thunderfly though, since I do quite a bit up near tree line where you don't get as much weather protection from the trees. Think it will be a great all arounder. Maybe I'll pick one up and save the Minifly for when I'm down in thicker canopy.

I love their tarps so much (have mini and super) that it makes me want to explore their other products. So well designed and executed, right down to the seamed ridgeline.
