I looked at the 50* Operator set, but b/c of the 4 month wait I just went with a 40/40 850 fill set from UGQ, with the UQ being a 3/4 length version. New hanger here, so leaned heavily on advice of others including Paul at UQG in the decision. I also have a 50* EE Apex quilt coming as well, I had actually ordered it first for tent camping in Fl, where it will essentially act as a warm weather throw for the most part replacing a 20 year old Marmot Wasatch Semi-Rec. But then I went all hammock-gonzo so picked up the TQ/UQ set also.

I have a EE 20* TQ as well so am looking at adding a 0 or 20* UQ for cold weather camping - not so much for Fl but traveling to colder areas . I think the 0 might be overkill, but since I have a 40 already the 20 seems like it's too close temp wise. Haven't really decided yet...

Totally understand going hammock gonzo. I have two new hammocks in the mail now.

I have two sets, a 40° and a 20°. If I have to deal w/ anything colder I'll wear some clothes or stack my quilts.
I don't often see temps below 20° (if I do then I drive farther south) so that method works for me at this point.

I started with a 20° and 40° because that’s what HG offered. But for my next round, I think I’ll go with 10° and 30° with WB. We have more nights in the 20’s and a 10° quilt might save some bulk/weight of the 0° stuff. the 30° might seem a little warm as summer comes on but I don’t recall “suffering” because an UQ was too warm - TQ yes, but for me, an UQ has a much wider comfort zone.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.
