I'd still like to hear from anyone that's paddled in.

My vacation starts 8/30. 8/29 is Rally Day at work so I'll probably be working that entire weekend. I do plan to hike in Monday morning or maybe even Sunday after work for a 3 day stay. I don't want to be there Labor day weekend, too may local yahoo's doing silly stuff.
Have fun ya'll and post reports.

Although Juniper Run is close to Hidden Pond, I've never tried paddling there and I don't have GPS corrdinates for Hidden Pond. Sorry, we all hike in on the Florida Trail. You'd have to do some bushwaching to find Hidden Pond for the Run. Maybe calling Juniper Springs Office what give you the information you need.

I can't wait to hang on my hammock again but I will wait for better temperatures and fewer bugs.

Start treating your gear with Permitring cause y'all going to need it, enjoy your trip, and stay safe!

Went on a couple of day hikes the last two weeks to see how I would handle summer hiking. Let’s just say I was disappointed with my results. Will need cooler weather for me to carry a backpack any distance. Really wanted to go.

O-boy and LowTech, I sent you guys a pm a awhile back, did you guys see it.

We try to night hike in during the summer or early morning. That's the best time to see deer anyway. Hiking at night is fun anyway. Especially in the rain.

I didn't find the temps to bad besides the hike, but nothing the pond couldn't remedy very quickly! On the way out, Birdie'sGirl taught me to prepare ahead of time with an ice chest waiting to cool me down once I got back to the car. Its all in planning ahead to help one enjoy Florida in the summer!

Just got back from spending 3 days there. The ticks are bad as are the red bugs but that was about it. I had the entire place to myself for 3 glorious days of peace and quiet. It rained all day Wednesday but that was fine with me, i laid in the hammock and caught up on some reading.

Did anyone lose anything while they were there last weekend?

Glad you had a good time out there. I wish our paths had crossed…next time.

I don’t think I lost anything out there but I left on vacation right after the camping trip so I haven’t done a good job of unpacking. I’ll let you know if I’m missing something.
