    SLOVAKIA: Finally rain

Our woods needed the rain badly. And us as well. I love rainy time with no wind.

Looks like a perfect forest for hanging! What species of trees are pictured here? Looks like some Oaks in the first pic, what are the tall ones with no undergrowth? Very pretty

You are right, the first are oaks. The large trees are beech.

Such great photos! Well actually ... such a great forest.
We as kids would never had said we were not coming along. But back then, back home, it was a treat to walk the woods, and a special privelege to be allowed to light and keep up the campfire on those camping trips. It helped a lot of course, that there was only 1/2 hour a day of TV meant for kids and the televisions were on only from 6 pm to 11 pm each day. We had books, but no other forms of entertainment except those things our imagination let us invent to play.

And for all the lack of modern things, we were some dang happy children.

    Gorgeous Photos!

We finally got some rain over here too on the Canadian Prairies. We were in a record Drought, with at one point over 150 wildfires burning over 2.5 million acres! Thankfully the rain has helped a lot, and more is on the way! I almost had to cancel my upcoming canoe camp trip, but thankfully it's looking like the fire that was in the area is receding quite a lot from the rain, so I may be good to go!

Pavel, you even have czech name And you are so right about children spending their time. I dont want to sound too old, but I think we live last bit of that. I do what I can to bring mines to know how to spend their time. We have no TV at home, but one ipad can do it all Lets bring them adventure and memories.
