    "These lines carry 75,000 kilovolts..."

Is that a typo or are they actually running 75 million volts on those lines?!?

So it’s obviously a bad idea to do this. It should go without saying but saying it none the less…

But I didn’t see anyone hanging from the lines. The pylon itself shouldn’t have anything running through it. Even if you are hanging on the line… that’s what the service people do (obviously not in a hammock…) and what birds do all the time. It isn’t actually as ludicrous as it seems because you’re not making a circuit (if you’re doing it right). It isn’t the potential, it’s the potential difference that matters. Of course you’re not going to be able to get onto it like they do…

Once again. Still unbelievably dumb and future Darwin Award winners if there’s a little bad luck. But the physics is interesting.

"These lines carry 75,000 kilovolts and that power can jump from the lines. This activity is extremely risky," it added.
Yeah, but when this baby hits 1.21 gigawatts, you’re gonna see some serious stuff.

likely a typo as most US high transmission lines are limited to 500kv. AEP owns several 765kv lines including one in Indiana and one in West VA. Still, wouldn’t want to be near any of those lines…
