Hi, My name is Colin & I'm new on here. Hoping to get the answers to some questions I have about hammock camping. Live in Antibes in the south of France & went out wild camping for the first time last Saturday in the woods near here. Flaming wild boar & unusual sounds (for me at least) of nature rustling in the undergrowth, etc kept me awake all night. Going to continue to do it until I get used to them

I'm not sure one can get used to flaming wild boar...I mean, non flaming ones I'd still be concerned. But, everything out in the woods at night sounds a lot bigger than it really is (for the most part). Search the forums...or ask away. Everyone here is pretty helpful.
You get used to it.
At some point, I just let it go and accept what happens happens. Kind of like swimming in the ocean. The odds of your being injured by a wild animal are so so small compared to so many other things that happen all the time and are far more likely and deadly like car accidents, getting sick, falling, or even being harmed by another person.
I guess I’m lucky I never had this problem in a hammock. I used to hear things all the time in a tent, but in my hammock I’m usually out cold! Lol
