I’m going out to the garage to repack the tarp I put away yesterday since I just stuffed it in the sack without folding.
    I hope you like it!

When first figuring out this process, I did a fair bit of wrestling with the tarp until duh! it dawned upon me to leave one end attached! I had been draping it over the hammock SRL, but this way makes things *much* easier.

I do like the method. I just folded and stowed my tarp twice for practice. The second time the tarp did not make the stuff sack look like a bloated sausage!

This was not a silpoly or silnylon tarp, but an inexpensive and heavier weight Amazon.com tarp.

    Thanks again for sharing.

That's what I noticed as well... there's enough room to smoosh it a good deal flatter after putting it into the stuff sack.

I watched your little video here, and I got to say you're wrong. That's not how I roll my tarp so that is not right.

Thanks a lot, appreciate you taking the time to do this.
And I'm actually going to give that a shot next time I'm using Lawson for guy lines. I'd never thought to bundle it that way with everything hanging straight.

Storage can't take any longer than my preferred stuffing into a sack for my small tarp. And for deployment I am always happy to try something that might keep me from being in a bad rain storm 1 second less.

LOL welcome to America! Where you can fold your tarp any way you see fit, no matter how wrong!!

Seriously, I found the same thing with speed of deployment and stowing. Best part is no tangles.

It's the lightest way I've seen to do it. Saves on hair ties and shock cord!

Now that begins to beg the question. Using this system is there anything I can replace with carbon fiber or titanium?

Ha well there's such as thing as carbon fiber stakes but here in the NE the rocks would kill them really quickly.

My faves are the Lawson HD Ti shepherd hooks. You can pounditate 'em fairly hard.

Bad news: I can't find them anywhere, Lawson's site or GGG. I'm gonna treat mine like gold and watch 'em like a hawk!!
