What nylon have you been using for your current hammock? 20D nylon has way more stretch than 70D nylon. The 1.2 oz MTN is actually a lot stretchier than a 70D ripstop nylon. I get back pain in a 1.2 MTN hammock due to the stretch. 1.7 oz MTN has less stretch and is also very robust. Higher Denier polyester has even less stretch. I tried a 40D ripstop polyester, but although I like firm hammocks, this was too much for me. It felt like I was lying on the ground. Also, polyester is weaker than nylon, which might be a problem in a short hammock that is hung with a shallow angle.

I can't really detect any stretch in my Dutchware Hexon 1.2 netless...most comfortable hammock I've ever had. All in weight with bugnet, Ridgeline organizer, and stuffsack is just under 15 oz.
