    Underquilt problem

    Hey gang,

I have an EE Revolt UQ that I've used for 5 years now. On my last trip, the shock cord on one side (both head and foot end) wouldn't hold any tension after pulling tight thru the linelocs. As soon as I released the cord, it would slide right back thru and remain slack. Temps were luckily warm enough overnight that it wasn't a huge deal, but obviously moving forward this is a concern. Is there an easy fix for this?

Is the line loc not holding (worn out)? You should be able to tie a stopper knot at the point where it feeds into the line loc. For a more permanent fix, maybe use a thicker shock cord so that the line loc grabs it or something like one of these cord locks:

Yeah I guess the lineloc has worn out, I didn't know that could happen!

So it's the shockcord that runs the length of the UQ, would be parallel to my body when laying down. Is replacing the shock cord an easy task? I'm not really great at this kind of repair stuff honestly.

Edit: Just tried the stopper knot solution and it seems to work! Simple enough, thank you!

Should be easy enough to replace. Tie the old cord on to the new one and pull it through.

Or just a new line lock? But I have often had to use a stopper knot.

If it's a lineloc, like a lineloc 3 on the tarps, you could try carving a little V were it grips the cord.
