I would be up for it if you could plan it for the weekend after that - I'm on call that weekend.

All things considered, $40, or even $50 isn't that great a cost for a weekend trip. It'll cost me that much in gas to get there and back.

Unfortunately, I'll be traveling for work the next weekend, and having Columbus day off, the planned weekend will only cost me one vacation day.

So, life got in the way and this trip didn't happen when planned. However, I've got some vacation time to use and planning to go next weekend (11/12 - 15). Fingers crossed nothing gets in the way this time.

Normally I'm suspicious about discussing the weather forecast before a trip, but in this case, I'm not sure it could get much worse. I guess I'll be "embracing the suck".

Fortunately those longer-range forecasts are frequently wrong.

It looks like I might have waited a bit too long for the shuttle service. Pine Creek Outfitters is "closed" for the season (apparently open "by appointment"). I've sent them an email and message through Facebook, so hopefully I can get a hold of someone to get an appointment. Otherwise, I guess I'll be doing a "there & back" on the top half of the trail. I don't see myself hiking 60 miles in three days.

On the upside, the weather is looking better...at least for now.

Actually, I kind of hate there and back hikes... retreading the same steps on one trip just isn't as interesting. So, I've decided to try the Old Loggers Path this weekend. Planning to be at the trailhead around noon on 11/12 in case anyone else just happens to be interested in joining.

OLP is good, not too hilly.

I was waffling between OLP, the Loyalsock Link loop and the Black Forest Trail (the shortened "north" loop). Not sure I'm in shape for the BFT, but maybe by next spring/summer.
