Add a cup of white vinegar to the rinse water to help remove odors.
I would assume hand washing with a light detergent should work well.
i do mine on the gentle cycle and hang it up to dry
I support the bathtub people. And silk liners for trips you know will get funky. Easier to wash the silk liner than the hammock itself.
The old 5-gal bucket. My (almost) nightly process for washing cycling clothes...depending how nasty I am that particular day.
Recently, I threw my 1.6 hammock in a HG cloth bag used for storing quilts loosely...tied off the bag tight...and threw it all in the washer. Works like a charm!
We have a top loading washer, but it is a newer one that does not have the center agitator in it. Kind of like a front load washer but top load.
Anyway, I wash all my hammocks in the washer on the gentle cycle with an extra rinse, then hang dry.
