    VIDEO: Haventent XL Initial impressions

This review is a bit long-winded but it covers a lot of ground.

    Good luck,

I couldn’t view the video link on Tapatalk….
Here’s the URL for those having the same issue.

Now off to watch the vid …

Good review Red… crazy the end blew out but like you said it didn’t look to cause any structural issues. The weight of this thing puts it out of my usage but that lay does look pretty nice.

Gotta comment on the audio quality… really good. I saw the wind blowing the trees around in the background and realized the mic wasn’t picking up any of that noise.

that was a good look at it

that rip when you sat down was really disheartening though

I really like the idea of this hammock tho, my wife just can't/won't get into the draumr

Thanks Tikker. The rip hasn't seemed to hurt it so far but it is disappointing. I prefer to enter on the left of this but the zipper is down at the foot when it's closed and it's honestly a little bit of work to reach the zipper to get out. I really wish it was a two-way zip.
    Good luck,

the lack of 2 way zip is kind of mind boggling too

you'd think the first time the designer had to reach all the way down to foot end it would have been a big clue

    oh well

I still really like the idea of this, but i'm still surprised how heavy it is. makes draumr seem a light weight

I too am surprised at the weight, but it is a pretty cool design.

I think it’s a real cool hammock. I would have to send it back for replacement due to that rip along with a copy of this video to prove nothing was done out of whack. Great review of a pretty interesting hammock. If they address the couple issues you have I might be interested in one

Thanks Saltfly. None of the issues seem to be getting worse but I haven't slept in it much lately. The mosquitos have been crazy here lately and I'd like to try it again just to see if they can find their way in thru the holes in the ends.. I need to contact Haven again and see what they think..... the only way they're going to know there's a problem is if someone tells them, I don't want to be the irate customer guy.

    Thanks for the detailed video.

Sad to see some of the QC issues and the single zip is kind of dumb, how much extra would it be to use a double one initially.

Still I'm thinking of buying one but I'd like to hear if your QC issues are a one-off or more common to all hammocks.

I don't mind the small trap, prop it open with a couple of Bugogears tarp poles I have and then button it down for the night. I'm moto camping so if the weather looks that bad I'll motel it for a night.

I'm really curious how it'll fit between the legs of a Tensa 4 stand, the suspension length looks good as opposed to a Ridgerunner's suspension length.
