‘Camping’ at a local lakeside park to escape the HEAT

I found a great spot lakeside with a stiff breeze and shade.

We’re headed for 100 again today which for folks in Seattle is unheard of. This may be the year that I finally decide to get air conditioning, but for right now, this is heaven.

This is my Dutchwear Netless Wide in Hexon 1.6. One of my favorites.

That is a really cool idea, i.e. hanging upside down so the hammock provides shade

I have never been big on camping. I've always hated forests and staying in the cold, no matter how many layers of clothes I'd wear. The only camping I enjoy doing is when I'm lying on the beach, after going surfing or swimming in the sea.

Ilonasig, you just started posting - welcome to the forum. As you can see, in Tpatter’s post, 100° in usually wet Seattle has really turned things upside down. There are a few posts in this forum about sleeping cold. Paradoxically, “...no matter how many layers of clothes I’d wear.” might actually be the problem. I’m not going to repeat all the “warm” theories/suggestions in Tpatter’s tread, but you can search for them. My take is like card counting in BlackJack. Just because you’ll know when the deck is “good”, doesn’t mean it will be good. Just because various layers provide an insulating factor, doesn’t mean they will have heat to keep in. You have to make the heat. And the story goes on from there. That said, there is cold and there is super cold. Shug has videos of his apparel when he’s sleeping in double digit minus temperatures. I’d talking about stuff in positive double digits - like 10° - 30° (just below freezing).

In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.
