The Centennial Trail is a 124 mile trail located in southwest South Dakota. The trail was constructed in 1989 to celebrate 100 years of statehood. Join me on this 6 day solo thru hike through Custer State Park and the Black Hills National Forest. Along the way, I saw lots of wildlife including buffalo, whitetail deer, turkeys, prairie dogs, Canadian geese, and others. This hike was my longest yet and really tested my physical and mental endurance. I carried my Warbonnet Ridgerunner hammock.
