    I'm a bridge builder now!

So I made my first bridge hammock! I used the pre-cut kit from RSBTR for the body and the bugnet template. I followed the Bic instruction vids on YouTube and I'm happy with the results.

I modified the pockeys.to look more like the Ridgerunner pockets. I also opted to go without hardware for the spreader bars, like the newer Ridgerunner design. Pretty simple actually. After the loop at the end of the dogbone I did a locked brummel, left about an inch gap, then another locked brummel before burying the rest. Also went to the hardware store and bought some plastic tubing. Cut it into about 2 in lengths, and split them about halfway up. Once I put the bars in I slide it down to cover where the bars come out to protect my tarp.

All in all I am very pleased. I've made several different gathered end hammocks, but this is my first time in a bridge hammock. Took it out for an overnight test hang and it is by far the most comfortable hammock yet.

I can't believe how flat and comfortable it lays. I prefer side sleeping and it is so easy in this hammock. Like being in my bed. It makes an incredibly comfortable camp seat as well. Also the views out of the hammock can't be beat. No more having to sit up to see out the side!

Looks really good for the first or tenth one! My first one came out looking like a first project...the bugnet was troublesome I found.

...don't forget to let the air out of the saddlebags when you pack it up.

A note on the RSBTR Bridge Hammock kit - if you get their poles, they have larger pins than the standard RR and RutaLocura upgrades. As such, they don’t fit in some of the button hardware alternatives.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

Yea I found out that a bridge also makes a great kite! It was a bit windy out.
The bugnet wasn't so bad, using the pre printed template made.it easier. Attaching the zipper was the most difficult part.
