Sounds like we are going to have a mini-hamfest at the hang! My buddy that is hoping to attend is also a ham, Andy, N4LAG. I will never claim to be the smartest ham, but I hope that I may have learned something in so many SOTA activations. Radio is a great hobby that you can put down when life takes you in other directions and pick back up later when things slow back down.
I have a large 16' Kelty Noah's tarp that I can bring if we need some covered area away from the campfire. Easy enough to throw in the truck just in case. A tip I picked up from a car camping friend is that ratchet straps make awesome ridgelines and tensioning devices for tarp cities.

It looks like i'm going to make this one arriving Thursday. I'm looking foreward to my first John Rock Hang.
So far it looks like about 34 could show up to John Rock, hey if you have not posted this give us the day and approx time you will be at the Fish Hatchery parking lot, me thursday at 10:30am, it is alot more fun to hike up with a group.
