    Hello all,

    Eric, I hope hammock camping will be fun for you, as you meet new people!
    After you log in Hammock Forums,
    Click Forums
    Click Outings
    Click Hangouts
    To find local group hangs.
    Go to at least two group hangs, to take it all in.
    There you will see a wide variety of hammocks rigged in every imaginable suspension

    Group hangs are not for everybody, but many times you will meet hammock campers there, that also go on smaller gatherings, usually backpacking. Best to get gear dialed in first. And go on backpacking treks with friends that are choosing short miles—especially at first.

    If you go to a group hang, bring a folding camp chair, a coffee mug. Be prepared to hear funny stories, hammock tips, and out and out lies!
