    Greetings from New Mexico

    Hello.
    Obviously new here.
A while back, my old mattress was hurting me.
I looked into the price of new mattresses and had chest pains ala Fred Sandford.

Years ago, while traveling in Central America, an old guy made fun of my tent and sleeping bag setup and offered to give me a spare hammock and net. Much less bulky and more suited for the terrain I quickly ditched the tent and bag.
My mind snapped back to those times and I wondered if anyone sleeps in hammocks full time.
An internet search, quickly revealed, that there are many out there who do think beyond the box-springs.

I now have a hammock in my room and on the porch. Both are sleepers.
My dog hasn’t made the transition as well as I have. He has lost his half of the bed, down he middle, and is not sure what to do.

I am retired early from music performance because of deafness. I also have severe and chronic ptsd, so that’s a weird work around in my life that hammocks fit well into.
I go on trips as I can, I’m looking after my mother in her dotage too.
Hope to find a cargo van and string up a hammock in the back.

I lurked for a while before I tried to join. It took some persistence, but now I’m here and look forward to learning and making new friends.
Thank you for letting me in.

Welcome. Are you up there near the catwalk? Love that area.
I'm one of those people that also hammocked around C.A. years ago and since getting back into them have been sleeping 90% of the time in one. I also live out of a vehicle but mostly hang outside of it.

    Thank you for the welcome.
I live in Glenwood, about five or six miles from the Catwalk.

I aspire to live with a vehicle again and have a rolling hammock stand.
Maybe I’ll see you down the road.

Howdy from up in White Rock, NM. Backpacked the Middle Fork of the Gila last August, and I'm already planning some future trips in the Gila NF.
