    Hammock with a view

Over the years I’ve collected a few hammocks and all are fairly simular in the ability to see out of the hammock with the exception of one. I have many cheap Amazon versions, WB eldarado, wbbbxl, SLD, and hammock gear in my selection the HG stands out in the visiblity stand point. There isn’t hammock material blocking my view as with the others. In the pic you can see how good the visibility is on both had and feet.

On all the other hammocks at least on the feet side there is a wall of fabric block view to that side with the exception of looking at your foot box. Here is an example of the El Dorado, with is simular to the others in view

My question is are there other hammock manufacturers that use a simular design to the Hammock gear with the great view? I’m in the market for a new hammock and looking at Dream Hammock Sparrow or Dutch Chamaeleon

Not the answer you were looking for but the view instantly improves if you lay inline banana style. I use a giant knee pillow and scootch up towards the head end of the hammock to have my hot drink in the morning and watch everything around me. Laying inline takes the tension out of the fabric edges and they fall down. The kool kids will never approve but I have learned to like banana style quite a bit assuming I have enough knee support.

Chameleon has a fabric wall similar to your pic. I love it other than that.

You could always get something in the Cloud71 fabric. With my underquilt pulled off to the side, I can see right through the hammock.

I have an Autumn Ultralight hammock that I am eagerly awaiting. I think the views from it will be great just due to the way its cut and its symmetrical lay. Really looking forward to seeing what the views are like from it.

Shug, I’ve watched most of your vids through the years and love the info you put out. What makes that hammock not have the typical wall opposite your head? Is it the symmetrical lay, the narrow body, or is it cut a special way to rid the hammock of extra fabric? Looking for that next hammock and trying to figure out a few thing before ordering.
