SLD trail lair has a bug net cut that allows for a good view.

With the built in UQ the sides are low but plenty wide. I always love the view from it.

I think my Dream Hammock Raven allows for good views. Asym hammocks will be worse in this regard, if you're wanting to see out the foot side. The SLD Trail Lair is supposedly great for views. And to be honest, the HG netted hammock seems to have almost the same geometry as the Trail Lair, at least to my eyes.

I have an original Hammock gear netted hammock and the SLD trail lair. They are similar but do not feel the same. Could be the ridge line length and material. If lay in a figure four with you knee on the zipper opposite your head the SLD does give a good view. It seems the HG doesn’t need that for the view. Both are great hammocks. I will say my wife loves her HG. It got messed up so we replaced it with the SLD TL and she just never could get it to “feel” right, wasn’t comfortable for her. So we sent the HG to be repaired and she is a happy hammocker again. I think I would like to try a dream hammock Danger bird. I never take the bug net off so no need for the sparrow. Looking at the 1.8 air material since it’s suppose to have a soft feel to it.

Keep in mind the Dangerbird does not have a symmetrical option, so you won't get as good of views from it as you would with a symmetrical hammock. The Sparrow and Raven are the only two that are (or can be) made symmetrical.

My Town's End bridge allows for great views.

I'm going to try out a Ridge Runner, mainly for the bug net, to see if I like that as well.

The Town's End probably isn't going to get beat for comfort, but if the RR is 90% there it'll be nice for backpacking.

My Amok Draumr 5.0 is great. You can't see inside so well but you can see out just fine. 0 amok.jpg
