Question about suspension on a Phoenix

I used my 40deg Phoenix UQ for this first time this weekend. I have an 11ft Dream Hammock Sparrow. The issue I had is that when the 2 S biners were attached to the ridge line at each end, both sets of suspension lines were tight. On the incubator UQ I can slide the quilt up and down along the primary suspension cords and then set it where I want it using the secondary. On this phoenix, if I tried to slide the quilt the secondary would just pull it back. Is this how this quilt is designed to work?

Take a look at the linelocs. Maybe you have those cinched up tight on the foot end, and loose on the head end?

I have used a similar Phoenix on DH Sparrow setup just fine. You might have help the shock cord negotiate the S biners as you adjust. The Cedar Ridge Outdoors UQ cord design that is currently on the Sparrow looks the same as the Phoenix, but with a mini-biner instead of S-biners.

No. The knots on the cords were pulled all the way back to the linelocs.

Could you email us some pictures? My email is below in my signature. With an 11 ft hammock, there should be plenty of wiggle room to make adjustments.

    So just to report back
I had the Phoenix out this weekend
I do think the main lines are to short for an 11' hammock
I had to make a 8" loop and just larks headed that to the foot end to move the quilt back
I still have more work to do to make it right
I'm unsure if I even like the 3/4 length
    Time will tell
