So that one DOES cinch up? I guess I assumed they had shock cord that just closed around everything. That’s neat - I’ll have to look at what they’ve got.

Actually it doesn't cinch down completely but has some 'stops' sewn into the channel that leaves it with a hole. With the dimensions as they are, the remaining hole is effectively blocked by the UQ. Cinching it any tighter would almost definitely compress the UQ anyway.

I can see that the cut and the sizing are really rather tricky... and it's nice that the un-cinched length just clears the ground with the hammock at proper height. It even accounts for higher foot end with a good hang. Lotsa calculations and experience went into this.

It’s an incredible execution of the design. I got mine in the super light netting since it bears only it’s own weight anyhow. I would definitely get the one with what he calls the winter end which is wide enough to easily slide over an UQ if you want to put the net on when the hammock is already setup.

I don't remember specifically ordering the winter end but this one slid over the UQ with little effort, and no stress on the opening.

It's safe to say it wouldn't take 9 weeks!

That creature is my canine buddy Cyrus. Calmest dog you'll ever see... never barks. If you walked by with a raging red-zone pit bull he wouldn't get excited.

Trust me, that’s something I wouldn’t want to attempt to DIY! My last bug net was a headache, and design isn’t at all my forte. That net looks very well thought out and executed!

Recently picked one of these up and I have yet to use it overnight, but backyard testing has me satisfied as a first-time fronkey user. I've had the cord lock for the end cinch slip a few times in backyard hangs, but that's an easy fix if it becomes a consistent issue. Very please with Jared's craftsmanship and his products live up to being Simply Light Designs. Mine comes in at 5.4 oz for an 11' winter version in the .7 oz. noseeum without the stuff sack. I asked for the stuff sack to be made black bishop style so I could have the net stowed similar to how it is in this video, but the gram weenie in me may end up leaving it behind and just letting the net dangle in the breeze if I want to lounge with it slid to one side.

That’s actually an awesome weight for 360* protection! The last net I actually bought was a Hummingbird Hammock net, and it weighed 5 point something on my scale, with a zipper. But I’m sure it was more than 5.4.
