    Hexon 1.2

    Hi everyone.

I've searched the site but can't find any feedback on Hexon 1.2 as a hammock material. I believe it only came out in December 2020 so perhaps not many people have got round to using it.
I could put an order in but shipping and taxes more than double the cost of the material. So if anyone has any experience I'd be interested in your opinions regarding stretch and robustness etc.

    Thanks

Ah, I was hoping it had less stretch than 1.0. Thanks for the info.

I have a 1.2 Netless and it has become my favorite hammock. My other pieces are a double-layer Chameleon in 1.0 and a Nestless 1.6. I find the 1.6 firm but supportive - though I have had my hands fall asleep from the firmness of the fabric if I lay a certain way. Also, comparatively, the 1.6 fabric is a little more course - almost plastic-y - to the touch. The 1.2 feels soft, but not slippery. It gives just enough to feel like it envelops me slightly and never pushes back at me so hard that my hands fall asleep.

Since my Chameleon is a double-layer 1.0, I don't know that I can give a good comparison to the 1.2 for stretch, but as a double layer, it feels firmer than the 1.2, but not as firm as 1.6. The 1.0 is a bit more "slippery" or "silky" feeling than the 1.2.

If you haven't guessed, I'm sold on 1.2. For me, it's an ideal fabric.

    Hope that's of some help.

That's great to hear, thanks. Makes me more confident in the Trail Lair I went ahead and ordered in 1.2 that is on its way!
I'm hoping it's a good compromise between ultralight and sturdiness. I tried MTN 1.3 but didn't the feel as much as Hexon.

I like the 1.6, but this encouraged me to make my next hammock out of 1.2 fabric. Thanks!

Seconding *jblo*'s feedback - I have a Dutch 1.2 netless that I just started using this year and it's the most comfortable hang I've ever had (in combo with a bottom entry bugnet. Huge improvement from my previous BB XLC rig.

Well, I've had my new Trail Lair in 1.2 Hexon out for 10 nights so far and I've got to say I find it very comfortable too. I find it has a touch less sag than 1.0 but it's in no way a firm material. I've actually managed to side-sleep in it the whole night which is a first for me.
