In all fairness, I was packing for a 3 day/ 2 night trip. When all was said and done, with all of my food and 1 liter of water, my pack did weigh 14.8 lbs. I have a tendency to over pack my food sometimes..especially if I am packing my food when I am hungry!!

Yeah, I know that’s usually what kills it for me - the “extras.” I try not to play the number game with myself - after all, my pack isn’t anywhere near as heavy as it was when I started - but I just can’t help it sometimes. Btw, you were right - the tarp skin is an extra that’s staying from now on. Very nice. Love the videos!

Thanks @AmberG!! Yes the snake skin is definitely a keeper. Makes it simple and ready to go when needed.

@brutalguyracing.. Thanks man!! Tents, tarps and bivys do have their places at times. Nothing beats a good hang though too! So long as you can get comfortable, it can go both ways! Yeah, dang bugs are coming..

Really enjoyed your video. Do you ever use mini tripods or tools of that nature to capture a scene?

Mostly I just find a nice spot on rock or somewhere..but then again I always say.. well I did pack this mini tripod, so I may as well use it!! It folds up so small too.. easily fits in shoulder strap pocket of my Kumo pack.. or any pocket for that matter.. even my shorts or pants pockets.

Here’s a food guide for 10 days at 1.4lbs a day and it even includes coffee. You will not be hungry using this plan.
