Yikes, first time I've seen Kevlar shredded... and 2" width?!

Taking a wild-azz guess at spec, but Kevlar like that should be at least 3000lb rating. But Fugal has 1200lb so it must be very thin, so maybe something breached and it cascaded from there.

However, with adequate slippage and heat build-up it definitely could happen. Kevlar is rated at about 500°F melt point.

Recently Jeff Myers put the "Hybrid Polyester/Dyneema" straps on his Ebay site.
    These puppies rock.
No bunching, strong, and light. As of today, 6 sets left.

Dangit I couldn't resist and ordered a pair. Building my own little suspension webbing database right in my noggin.

Me too! I succumbed to the urgency instinct with only 6 left in the shop and grabbed a pair. Definitely curious.

    Couldn't resist - ordered a pair.

Gonna have to buy some more hammocks to keep up with all these suspensions at this rate.

I've had mine for awhile and finally started using them recently. They are great with a Becket hitch.

Are you adding any back-up wraps or stopper knots with the Becket?

No, I haven't felt the need. If I thought I needed additional holding power, my preferred method would probably be Jeff's "modified" or "double Becket hitch" that he demonstrates here. Seems super simple.

Yep, these could be the cat's meow... if they don't end up in the pile next to the Venom webbing!

I'm familiar with that double-wrap Becket... just wondering if the straight-up slipped sheet bend might hold because in a similar thread uninjured mentioned using a modified Becket. Myers also has a demo of the slipped Lapp Hitch wherein he does an extra half wrap. I don't do the extra half wrap and have no problems at all with Kevlar or Polyester or Poly-spider...

Same, they’re listed again on eBay. Figured I’d give them a try.
