    under the hammock

What do you guys use under the hammock to stand on.. Like when you change clothes or take your shoes off. Dont want them socks dirty and need to be something that will not blow away?

I use a 3'x3' piece of tyvek. Some people stake them down but I've never had an issue since there's usually shoes, flashlights, water bottles, etc on it once I get set up.

I picked up a wool lined waxed cotton groundcloth from Colorado Bushcraft. I will also use it to line my chair to keep the wind off my backside by the fire.

The same half of a thermarest z lite pad I put in my chair around the campfire. Also works to fan the fire and as a sit pad on the trail.

No ground covering, or foot mat here.
I slip into my beach shoes, they are New Balance locker room slides. Great camp shoes!

Crinkle it up into a ball, smooth it out. Repeat a few times, becomes almost like cloth.

I started off with a piece of tyvek but now I use a 3'x3' piece of 70D silnylon because it packs up way smaller than the tyvek. It has grommets at the four corners and I do stake it out because I like neatness.
