    AL/GA - 1 or 2 nights recommendations

I may be heading to southern GA to visit my sister in the next 6-8 weeks and was wondering if anyone could recommend a 1 or 2 night trip either in AL or GA. I'll be driving down from SC and wanted to do a little backpacking after visiting. Difficulty doesn't matter, I just want to see some new territory.

It's been a while but my dad, brothers & I had some good times backpacking in the Cohutta Wilderness Area in north GA.

There's also the Benton MacKaye Trail you might consider.

If you are wanting something in the southern part of those states, you may want to try Pine Mountain, Georgia for an overnighter. (Not my favorite but I've been told I wasn't on the right trail so do your research)

Another option, if you don't mind car camping, is Chewacla State Park near Auburn. They have a lot of hiking trails that you could do during the day. I was there this weekend and it is a beautiful park with a good variety of terrains considering you're in south Alabama. I'm looking forward to going back and exploring some more.

Thanks everyone for the info. I haven't been to any of those places, so when the time comes I'll just pick and go explore a new area. You all gave me the info I needed.
