Fugal Buttons Installed on my Warbonnet Ridgerunner

I had trouble installing these the first time on my new Warbonnet Ridgerunner. Rather than risk damaging a tarp, I was planning on replacing my original RR dog bones in order to use these bridge hammock buttons. However, the second attempt to install worked out and I now have a trouble free Ridgerunner.

It's a shame folks have poked holes into tarps but at least now there is a cure. Hopefully Fugal's buttons will be offered by companies who manufacture bridge hammocks.

John, I’m glad you got those buttons in. For me, the first one went in easy. The others needed a little prodding with a flat edge screw driver. As and example of the pressure the spreader bars have on them, A couple weeks ago I got into the bridge - older style with metal hardware - inside a SpinDrift (full sock). The pole slipped out fo the hardware fitting at the foot end (that RR uses the rubber bumpers, not the buttons) and it shot like an arrow through a hole it punched in the spindrift and on to a fence about 6 feet away, where it hit and bounced back to the hammock. Something to think about as shortening the dogbones puts even more pressure on that spreader bar.

I have the buttons on my SL RR and am looking forward to some summer hangs with it.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

Glad you got them on there. They can be quite difficult to install, but they need to be able to fit a wide range of poles so miniaturizing them any more is difficult. Speaking of variety, there are some RR poles out there that are a bit too large to fit the buttons. I'm getting my hands on the larger version this week and will be using it as a basis for an updated design. I'll consider ways to make them more install friendly, but to fit larger poles AND be easier to install could be a creative challenge.

For any vendors listening I'd be glad to make arrangements!

These work equally as well for the older version of the Ridge runner.

Send me a pm when you start making them because mine are the larger diameter bars.

I have a set installed on the new version of the Ridgerunner. I had to drill them out, per the included instructions, to fit the larger poles. It was easy to do and I love them! I worked the loop in the suspension for a minute and they were easier to install. It took about 10 minutes to get all 4 installed. Well worth the time, effort, and money! Thanks Fugal!

I have an older RR do you pop these bumpers on the pole tips after they through metal clips?
