Hey everyone. Name is Will. Ive lived in NYC for over 31 years. Got into hammock camping in the past 3 months. Was into tent camping. Watched some of sintax77 youtube videos, and the aspect of lighter packs and better sleep was definitely interesting to me. I usually camp in the adirondacks or harriman state park.
Besides camping, my interests are history, politics and firearms. Would love to go camping with like minds and learn some pointers from some experienced hammock campers.

I sure hope so. I bought a hennesy hammock. Tried to set it up a few times with the normal suspension but couldnt get it right. After some youtube videos, i switched outnthe spectra line to the continuous loops with buckles and was able to actually lay in the hammock for the first time. Best sleep ive gotten in a long time! But i can always use more pointers..

Check out the Sub-24 Overnight Harriman thread where we occasionally share info about recent trips and routes. Most of us who post there also have a fair amount of experience in the Catskills and Adirondacks.
There is also an Ultra Lite Gear forum if you want to skip the bling phase and get straight into UL hammocking. Like some of the other topics that stray beyond basic hammock stuff, it's for donating members only but IMO well worth the $10.
