    Packability of Hexon 1.6

How small does the Hexon 1.6 pack down to? I'd like to get a new hammock in the Hexon 1.0, but I'm in love with the Brick Red color in Hexon 1.6. I know I shouldn't chose the fabric just on the color, but I saw a pic of a hammock in that red and it just takes my breath away! Would a hammock in 1.6 take up over half-again as much space packed as the 1.0?

And if anyone has pics of the Brick Red, I'd love to see more pics of it.

I have the Dutchware Chameleon in both 1.0 (orange) and 1.6 (brick red). I can confirm that they both pack down into the same size stuff sack provided by Dutch, the 1.6 just being a bit more of a snug fit. The brick red is a great color!

Thanks! Pretty!! Do you happen to have a pic of the 2 hammocks side-by-side for color comparison?

Unfortunately I do not. I use the 1.0 in the summer and the 1.6 when it gets colder out, so they never have a chance to visit.

I think of it this way:

You mostly see the body of the hammock from the outside, unless you spend a significant number of the daylight hours in your hammock! And the bottom is going to be covered by an UQ, essentially totally covered if the UQ is a Wooki. Therefore, to me, the color of the UQ is more important than the color of the hammock.

Is this for your running pack setup, where volume is really critical?

If so, I'd get whatever color is available in Hexon 1.0. For a UL backpack of 40L or more I'd stick with Hexon 1.6, also without regard to color. I happen to have a Chameleon in that red Hexon 1.6, but I agree with TominMN that when it's covered by a UQ and under a tarp it doesn't much matter what color it is... I've just settled on Hexon 1.6 as my go-to fabric for its firmness and durability when pack space isn't so critical, which is the vast majority of the time.

Yes, this is for my running hammock. It was going to go in the back of my hydration pack, but I've switched to a hydration pack with less space than previously, so it will be packed in a fanny pack. Still a small space, but a little more than I had originally thought.

You are right, though, I do need to get the Hexon 1.0.

Ordered from SLD? You'll have it by Tuesday! Heck, maybe Monday...

EDIT: ... just saw the other thread you ordered from Dutch. Still pretty quick.
