Does anyone have a pic they could post of the SLD quilt hooks? I'm trying to decide if I want them the Tree Runner I'm going to order.
    Thanks

In my humble opinion, while not necessary they are very nice to have and work well. I’m glad I have them for sure.

I'm going to have them added, as it doesn't seem that they'd add much weight, and they look like they'd be useful.

Various opinions exist about how to best use them. Some just use the hook at the shoulder. Others will also use the one on the opposite side at the feet. Using both at the head end CAN put undue stress on some UQs.

For me, they stop the UQ from shifting out from under me in the middle of the night. Some folks seem to never have this problem!

Newby question here: Does the edge of the UQ itself get clipped onto the UQ hooks, or is it just the shock cord?

Typically just the shock cord. BUT, in some cases, the edge of the quilt has a little gap in the shock cord channel that aligns with the clip. The requires coordination between the hammock maker and the UQ maker. Or, you could do a bit of sewing. I suppose you could clip right over the top of the cloth as well if you had to. Depends on where the end of the UQ is along the shock cord with respect to the clip.

I just do the shock cord at all 4 hook points. Keeps everything under you, especially when you move to diagonal. I have HG quilts so I make sure to get both shock cords in the hooks.
