    Porcupine Mtns Bugs?

Looking at an early June trip. When are bugs super oppressive? Are there a few weeks to specifically avoid?

Black flies can be brutal in May and be cautious of ticks from snow melt to winter. Best to just come prepared with a bug net and spray your clothes with Permethrin.

When the temp drops to about 64-degrees F most mosquitoes and black flies settle to ground. Horesefly's...not so much.

We went Memorial Day weekend several years ago. It was brutal. Every backpacker/hiker had a head net at minimum and wore it throughout the hikes.
