I wish it was hilly and cold, but all we got here are flat lands, humidity, heat, and now mosquitoes.

Ah I have been to Florida many times and enjoyed all the great beaches. I post more on Instagram @cguynn if you have it.

Definitely better in person but my potato phone does it's best . Everyone around me on the high route is ready to get back on trail, the seasoning in period is complete.

Current location: Spring Creek Pass. Lake City, Colorado Mile 963

Continued through the high route horse shoe loop to the next mountain town of Lake City. This section was highlighted by hitting the highest point on the Colorado Trail at 13,231 feet. The CDT and the CT are the same trail for about 300 miles and it's been excellent hiking since the CT is more popular and better maintained than the CDT. We also got to watch a family of moose graze from our camp at a high Alpine lake. Next stop is
Salida, Colorado. Hammocking has been hit or miss but the weather had been nice so hasn't been too hard to find a nice bed of pine needles to sleep on .

Also, I've gotten a few messages about items from TwoSpeedHammocks. My store is closed for now but I'll be happy to help with any new product requests you all have after hiking season.

    Happy Trails and Happy Hammocking!

Made it to Monarch Pass at mile 1062. After eating breakfast at the restaurant at the pass my group of three got a ride in a little under 5 minutes to the mountain town of Salida, Colorado. Celebrated 1000 miles and 1/3 of the trail completed with warm food and a warm bed. Next stop is a quick stop into Twin Lakes and then a stop in Leadville before heading further up into Colorado towards Wyoming. Some photos from the trail between Lake City, Colorado to Salida via the last leg of the horseshoe loop passing the upper creede cut off.
