Finally in the land of Colorado. Made it to Wolf Creek Pass at mile 848. My first 67 mile jump into the San Juans took 4.5 ish days and the hiking was 3+ season and included post holing for miles in snow and snowy mountain traverses capped off by views that had to be seen to be fully appreciated. Hammocking was a little tough and I spent a few nights a few inches off the ground due to limited tree selection but was able to get into some valleys for okish spots. In Pagosa Springs for the weekend and then back to the trail. Happy Trails Two Speed

Two Speed, thanks for sharing scenic vistas.
Hope you get back to tell us stories of trekkers you met along trail

When you are out of consumables, on way to a town, what is your lightest pack weight?

How is your ultralight gear weathering your journey?

Not sure on exact baseweight since it increased a little due to having to get some extra clothes and snow gear for Colorado. I'd say it's around 15 lbs or so. Most of the new gear is doing well. My tarp is showing some wear but I'm mointoring it. Have had some minor issues with the new 0.71 hammock but I'm working through those with the manufacturer . May have to move to a heavier weight fabric for durability for the long duration hike.

Made it to mile 930 at Stony Pass trailhead right outside Silverton, Colorado. The high elevation climbs and beautiful views continue. Will spend a few days in town and then continue on the horseshoe loop towards Lake City and then out of the loop and then continue to head north through Colorado. Got a little misdirected my last day into town and ended up cowboy camping at 11k feet but stayed relatively warm and the weather and stars were awesome. Gear is still doing ok. Rammed a pine tree limb through my favorite puffy but after some gear tape surgery it will continue on its way to Canada.

A few pictures from the trail

Please keep the pictures coming… loving the views, especially from us Floridians…

I wish it was hilly and cold, but all we got here are flat lands, humidity, heat, and now mosquitoes.

Yeah the weather is pretty amazing even with the snow. A little chilly in the morning but in shorts by lunch everyday.
