Just placed an order for a brand spanking new hammock setup. Here's the deets:

Warbonnet Eldorado
Warbonnet Minifly
Warbonnet Wooki XL
Dutchware Marlin Spike Kit w/ Whoopies

And for good measure I threw in a Suunto MC-2 compass and a waterproof map holder since the wife was feeling generous.

I just moved back to NC earlier this month and I'm really excited to get back out into the piney woods!

Great! Keep your excitement going while you wait on stuff to arrive in the mail. You can go on down to Lowe's or Home Depot and get you a couple sections of top rail to make a tensa stand.

Nap in your garage for a little bit, and you have something to fold up and take in the back of your car if you're going somewhere you don't have trees.

Give you something else to play with.

Was just in that position last week....waiting for gear. I’m still waiting on a couple things but hammock and tarp arrived yesterday! Spent my time researching local places to hang and getting my ridge line and tarp tieouts set up. Congrats on the purchase, good reason to be excited!

Same here. I ordered some USGS topo quads for Black Balsam area and have been scouting potential stealth camping spots on CalTopo.
