    Warbonnet Pole Stuff Sack Alternative

Just picked up a new Warbonnet Ridge Runner and Mountainfly with center pole kit mid, only after the fact realizing that it didn't come with a stuff sack for the center poles or RR spreader bars, AND that Warbonnet is sold out of their sack to fit these poles.

Anybody know of a good alternative stuff sack? I couldn't find the length of the center pole on Warbonnet's product page here: https://www.warbonnetoutdoors.com/pr...nter-pole-kit/

ZPacks makes three sizes using DCF. I use the large with my RR bars and tarp poles.

Two great suggestions. The Arrowhead one with the side pouch for stakes looks particularly nice. Thanks for sharing, y'all!

FWIW, I did measure the RR spreader bars and when you stow one of the foot end pieces into one of the head end pieces, you end up with a 17.5" bar for storage. The collapsed center pole is just under 18". So either of these two suggestions look like they'll work great.

And Shug, I'm a longtime fan. It made my heart flutter a bit when I saw your reply. Hehe.

I have the AHE bag, works well. I put the poles for the tarp mod in there as well.

Just used the arrowhead pole sack for the first time camping. Perfect, light, strong and just the right size for bridge poles & stakes. I can't comment on mid poles requirements.

What's the length of the arrowhead pole sack? I have an UGQ Winterdream tarp with endpoles on order and I think those may break down slightly longer than the Ridge Runner poles.

himynameisJoseph, I’m guessing you also looked at the WarBonnet SuperFly. I’m curious why you chose the MountainFly over the SuperFly - because I’m sorta sitting on that fence. I’m not concerned about winter because in Winter we have snow. And when we have snow, I can build walls. I have been in strong winds and some blowing rain. But I can’t imagine the rain being so sideways that it would wet much beyond the MountainFly mini-doors. And I would have had to really misjudge the weather to be caught in that sever a storm by mistake. That is, if I know it’s going to be that rainy, I’d take a tarp with full doors.

It looks like the MountainFly is the same width as the SuperFly so you save a little bit on weight/bulk by having just half-doors.

All my tarps are SilNylon because reliability tops weight/bulk in my situations. But the print/pattern I want (snow day camo) only comes in 20D SilPoly.

If you were considering a SuperFly, what tipped the scales for you in favor of the MountainFly?
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.
